A practice availability tracker: know Saturday’s numbers by Wednesday

Set the practice days and the season dates once and every practice becomes a row. Parents answer per date. The coach sees “9 coming · 2 can’t” on Wednesday, moves or cancels a thin Saturday with one tap — everyone enrolled is notified — and takes attendance after.

The chat poll problem

A poll in the group chat is answered by the parents who saw it in the first ten minutes and forgotten by everyone else. A row per practice with a reminder an hour before gets answered by the people who are actually coming.

Attendance closes the loop

After practice, tick who came. Over a season the coach knows who missed what; parents see “attended 11 of 14”.

Questions

What about games?

Mela tracks practices and availability; it does not keep scores or lineups. Post results as an announcement.

Can I change the practice days mid-season?

Yes. Future sessions regenerate; past attendance is untouched.

Do parents need the app?

Parents who answer per practice use the free iPhone app; announcements also reach everyone by web link.
