Classes, sessions and attendance

Every class in the term, on its own line.

A program is the recurring definition: which days, what time, first and last date. Mela turns it into a list of sessions. Members tap Coming or Can’t on each one; the organizer sees the headcount ahead of time, takes attendance after, and moves or cancels a session with one tap — everyone enrolled gets the notification.

Before the class

“9 coming · 2 can’t” days ahead. If Saturday is going to be thin, reschedule it: pick the new date and time, and the notification goes out. A moved class shows “moved from Sep 6” so nobody is confused.

After the class

Take attendance from the class row: tick who was there and, for a per-class fee, who paid. Members see “attended 6 of 8 · 6 paid” on their side. Attendance is per enrollee, so a parent with two children sees each child’s record.

When the schedule changes

Change the days and future sessions regenerate. Past sessions and their attendance are never touched.

Questions

Who can take attendance?

Organizers and members the organizer gives program rights to. Members cannot mark themselves attended.

Can members answer for more than one child?

Each child is enrolled separately with their own attendance and payment record.

Does it work for weekly meetups, not just classes?

Yes — any recurring thing with a roster: practices, rehearsals, study groups, running club.
